Welcome to Butcher & Barlow. We are a Team of over 175 staff, spread across 12 offices in the North West.
Our reach is wide, and our depth of knowledge and expertise is second to none. We are proud to have 30 Partners, with 14 of them completing their Training with us, including our Senior and Managing Partners.
At Butcher & Barlow we believe in growing our talent from within. The fact that all of our Senior Management undertook their training contracts with us is testament to that. We believe in investing in our people, encouraging their growth, and nurturing their talents. This approach, we believe, has contributed to our overwhelming and continued success over the years.

We foster a collaborative working culture across all departments and office locations, creating a strong sense of belonging and support among our team members. This is why many of our staff choose to stay with us for decades; our longest serving team member has been with us for an incredible 43 years! Over 25% of our team has been with us for over 10 years, and nearly 20% have been with us for over 15 years. This provides a breadth and depth of experience that is unmatched in the industry.
We are also passionate about guiding our young trainees into future leaders. Over the past five years, we’ve offered NQ roles to 17 of our Trainee Solicitors. Our approach to training and investment in people has been a cornerstone of our Firm’s resilience and success, even in times of economic change.
