Butcher & Barlow stumps up donation to get cricket club on path to six-cess
Butcher & Barlow are helping Bramhall Cricket Club bowl over the opposition after pledging sponsorship for the cricket season.
The Firm, which is committed to investing in the community, has become a sponsor of the junior teams at Bramhall Cricket Club in Stockport for the 2023 and 2024 season.
The junior section, made up of players aged nine to seventeen, is the latest sports club to receive backing from Butcher & Barlow, joining North West tennis, football and rugby clubs.
Part of the Firm’s Corporate and Social Responsible (CSR) programme, the sponsorship is about supporting local people and promoting grassroots sports in the areas where our offices are based.
Managing Partner Anthony Higham said:
Sport is a great avenue for promoting values such as teamwork, discipline, and leadership that can bring people together and help young people to succeed in all areas of life. Those values and ethos are how we work at Butcher & Barlow so it makes sense to us that we should help promote those things externally as well.
Bramhall Cricket Club has a strong ethos of community involvement and has worked hard to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for players of all ages and abilities. The junior teams compete in local leagues throughout the season.
A number of our employees are heavily involved in grassroots sports through coaching various junior football and cricket teams, or by participating themselves in other sports.
Jo Ormiston, a solicitor at our Bramhall office whose son is in the junior team said:
I know how much it means to the club that local businesses get involved and back the teams. It helps not only from a financial point of view, towards costs of things like kit and equipment but helps them raise their own profile locally and ensure they have a steady stream of youngsters wanting to play for them with. And as a mum it’s great and I feel quite proud that Butcher & Barlow have been able to help in this way.
As a law firm with a long history of serving the North West, Butcher & Barlow understands that the success of the business is closely linked to the wellbeing of the people and organisations around us. By sponsoring local sports teams, we hope to build stronger ties with the communities we serve and to support the development of future leaders in the region.
We understand that success is not just about profits or market share, but about creating meaningful connections with people and organisations in the communities we serve.
Other clubs to receive sponsorship include Bramhall Lane Tennis Club, Prestwich Cricket Club, Sandbach 10K, Weaverham Football Club, Breightmet Utd Football Club, Sandbach Rugby Club, and Tattenhall Cricket Club.
