I am a Private Client Solicitor based at our Bramhall office. I specialise in Wills, Estate Administration, Trusts, LPA’s and Deputyship applications. I qualified in 2004 and am very proud to say that I became a full member of STEP in 2013. I have many years of experience dealing with complex and often sensitive matters.
I particularly enjoy Estate Administration and I think this is because it allows me to build a more longer term relationship with my Client’s and their families. I feel that my role is to make a Client, at our very first meeting, breathe a sigh of relief that they are leaving, knowing that I am going to make things easier for them/take away things which they find hard or painful, and feel confident that the next time we meet, progress will have been made.
I see the main issues to be dealt with and get on with dealing with those. I like the curve ball my area of law throws in and that case which tests your abilities, maybe throws up a matter not previously dealt with and the achievement felt having resolved it. I love being able to see the issues to be dealt with and being able to get on and sort those out.
I take pride in the fact that strangers can be made to feel comfortable telling me the most painful and personal information and I am trusted with that to give them the best advice that I possibly can.
I recently told a Will client that my eldest child (Harrison), was learning about WWII and after our appointment she relayed stories about her experiences which I told Harrison and he shared (with her permission) with his class. The point of my telling this is to emphasise that in recent years it’s the Client’s who make me want to remain a Solicitor.
I grew up in Higher Poynton so walked to the Miners Arms, Lyme Park and learnt to cycle along the Middlewood Way. All activities we have done with our boys Harrison and Heath.
With two young boys (9 and 11) we have learnt that we have to be outdoors! Harrison and Heath love to cycle and I have at long last succumbed to it having loved cycling in Sherwood and the New Forest this year. I am often found cheering on the boys at the side of the football pitch each weekend… much to their embarrassment!
