I am a Solicitor and Partner at the Sandbach office of Butcher & Barlow specialising in Commercial Property, Agricultural, Wills, Estate and Tax Planning. I was admitted as a Solicitor in 1984 and I have been a Partner since 1996.
I have worked in the Sandbach area for nearly 40 years and during my career, I have established strong local relationships and a loyal client base.
My specific strengths include:
- Development of new sites;
- Acquisition and disposal of the development of rural and commercial land including multi-party option and promotion agreements;
- Complex sale and purchase agreements involving overage or profit-sharing;
- Negotiating planning and development obligations;
- Commercial landlord and tenant matters including lease negotiations in the retail office and industrial sectors;
- Real estate due diligence and advice on business sale agreements;
- The sale and purchase of farms and agricultural land and agricultural tenancies;
- Succession and succession planning under the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986;
- Drafting partnership agreements;
- Estate and succession planning; and
- Working with investors, developers, SME’s and individuals.
Notable transaction’s I have worked on are:
- Acting in the acquisition of a substantial rural estate in North Yorkshire.
- Acting in the purchase of development sites in North and West London.
- Acting in the development, sale and lease of a large commercial site in Cheshire.
- Advising landowners in connection with the development of substantial residential development sites in Cheshire.
- Advising a consortium of landowners on a multi-party collaboration agreement for residential developments in Cheshire and Staffordshire.
Outside of the office, I love long walks in the countryside, going to the gym, cricket and am a lifelong supporter of Manchester United.
