I am a Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEx), specialising in Family Law, based primarily at the Tyldesley office but able to attend upon clients at our Bury office.
I qualified as a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2009.
I have worked in the legal profession since 1999 and I have over 7 years’ experience working in Family Law at Butcher & Barlow, having joined the firm in 2010.
I deal with all areas of Family Law, including:
- Pre-Proceedings advice to parents, when Children’s Services become involved;
- Care Proceedings;
- Domestic abuse, including Non-Molestation orders and Occupation Orders; and
- Issues relating to children and finances arising from a separation/divorce.
I am able to act for clients on a fee paying basis or a legally aided basis, in cases where Legal Aid is still available. I offer a free 20 minute initial appointment to discuss the issues, costs and assess whether or not legal aid is available.
I aim to deal with each case as sensitively as possible and due to my experience I understand how difficult it can be for the persons involved to have to deal with the issues which arise in Family Law. Due to each and every case being different as a result of circumstances which are personal to that particular individual, I strive to achieve an outcome which benefits that particular individual and/or family.
I have a keen interest in public law proceedings where Children’s Services are involved with families. I represent the parents in these proceedings. I have been involved in numerous cases, where the concerns of the local authority have been as a result of injuries to children, domestic abuse, mental health issues and substance abuse. In many of these cases the baby/child or children have remained with either one or both of their parents at the conclusion of proceedings.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two young children who keep me busy. I also enjoy walking and running to stay healthy.
