I joined Butcher & Barlow in January 2021 as a Paralegal in the Commercial Dispute Resolution Department based at our dedicated commercial office at Gadbrook Park where I assisted the Head of Dispute Resolution, Alex Sandland on a range of Commercial Dispute Resolution matters. I also worked within the specialist Property Dispute Department with a particular focus on landlord and tenant disputes, both residential and commercial. When I commenced my training contract with the Firm, my training was spread across various areas, however I found myself enjoying Commercial Property and Construction the most, assisting Rachel Martin, Partner and Co-Head of the Commercial Property Department where I gained a wealth of knowledge and valuable experience.
I qualified as a Solicitor in March 2024 specialising in Commercial Property and Property Dispute Resolution where I undertake a range of work including:
- Drafting of leases for both landlords and tenants, renewal leases, assignments, deeds of variation, licences for alterations
- Commercial Property disputes
- Landlord and Tenant disputes
I have a keen interest in charitable work and have volunteered with East Cheshire Hospice since 2017. I have also sat on the committee for the ‘Friends of Baguley Hall’ as the heritage coordinator since May 2019 and have recently been appointed as a Trustee for the group. We have been engaging with Historic England, English Heritage and the local community to secure a future for the magnificent grade 1 listed medieval hall in Manchester. My interests outside the office include visiting historical sites of interest and museums, in my spare time I enjoy walking around the Peak District and reading.
