I am a Partner and Head of the Wills, Tax, Trusts and Estates department, based at the Firm’s Gadbrook Park office and our London Road Office in Northwich. With a client base predominantly in North Staffordshire and South Cheshire, I specialise in the following:-
- Wills
- Probate
- Trusts
- Estates and Tax planning
- Elderly client issues notably Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection applications
I advise clients with complex personal and financial circumstances ensuring during their lifetime and beyond, that the appropriate tools are used to enable a smooth transition and preservation of wealth. I work with high net worth individuals including notably farmers and business owners. I spent the first 10 years of my career working at a firm in the Staffordshire Moorlands, with a varied and complex case load which has provided me with vast experience and technical knowledge of my specialisms. Prior to this my law degree (LLB) was obtained from Lancaster University, with my Legal Practice Course completed at Chester Law School.
It is important to me to maintain regular communication with clients and to advise in a way which provides reassurance and confidence in the advice being provided. Transparency and good availability have assisted me in building up a loyal set of clients.
Some of my favourite matters are those where I have managed to save a client and their family considerable Inheritance Tax through a careful and considered approach to a set of circumstances. It is always a pleasure in these circumstances when client’s children become loyal clients. I have a particular interest and knowledge in the creation of trusts to provide a mechanism through which a client can protect a vulnerable or disabled family member.
I am an Affiliate Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and I am working towards Full STEP Membership.
When I am not working I have a busy home life with two energetic young children. I enjoy walking, cycling and I am an avid football fan. If time allows I like to tinker with my MK1 Ford Focus (my first car) although it is a struggle to get it through its MOT and a bit of a money pit.
